Many police and fire departments are making the switch to electric bikes (E-bikes).
Green Bay, WI uses them and Los Angeles Police Department has a new fleet of speedy e-bikes.
E-bikes are easy to maintain and help preserve the energy of police officers and paramedics while on bike duty. In this YouTube video an officer riding an electric bike chases down and nabs a bike thief easily.
Recently, Samcycle donated an e-bike to the Arlington Heights Police Department and the department purchased a second e-bike. The officers love patrols using the e-bike. We met with the department for a demonstration on how the e-bikes work and to answer their questions. Great group of officers and it was a pleasure to work with them!
